A 5 week course for students who want to improve their throwing skills. Classes taught with the careful, hands-on instruction and advice of a university trained and 20 year, experienced teacher. You will learn how to make more complex shapes and improve your throwing technique, as well as experiment with slips, underglazes and glazes if there is time. I love to work with different colour media and surface design and will encourage you to all try new decorating techniques on at lease two pieces I have equipped The EPS with underglazes, slips, oxides and glazes to allow for a wide range of choices for decorating your work. I look forward to sharing my skills along the way to ensure that you succeed in this class and leave with pieces that you are proud of. COURSE PACKAGE: 2.5 Hour Throwing class Demonstrations and instruction from an established ceramic artist Access to expert advice via Wix or Facebook Slips, glazes and stoneware firing included Space in the studio to leave your clay for the next week Opportunity to join The EPS Hands on Clay, pottery user's group (HUG) after 4 classes taken in the studio Clay is to be purchased separately on this website before class begins 1/2 bag of clay - £7 - £12 Full bag - £14 - £24 Purchase any clay but Crank or Raku IN THE INTEREST OF CLEANLINESS, PLEASE BRING An apron, a large sponge, an old cloth cloth for rolling clay, a 2 litre tub and 10 litre bucket I am really looking meeting you and teaching you ceramics in this new pottery studio. * So long as you withdraw two weeks before teaching begins, refunds accepted, minus 5% transaction fee. After this period, all tuition fees are non-refundable If you cannot complete a short course because of illness, you will be able to donate your remaining lessons to local folk in Craigmillar community or pass them on to a friend. Refunds are not available once a period of study has commenced. If a course is unlikely to run, you will be informed a week beforehand about it and again a couple of days before it commences ( 100% refund will be issued )*
